About the event
Join one of our relaxed social events to celebrate queer Latinx authors.
Whether you love to read or have a chill meetup with friends, this event is a chance to connect with people who are just as passionate about the beautiful stories and art in our community.
This one-time Pride Book Club meetup is presented by Latinx History Project's DC Latinx Pride and hosted by our friends over at Los Bookis Podcast.
Maltiox, founded by local celebrity chef Karla Alonzo (she/her), is a Guatemalan restaurant that serves a wide variety of traditional, hard-to-find Guatemalan dishes, such as kaq-kik, chojín, pepián and churrasco. Come support a Latinx and lesbian-owned business, and get a sneak peak at the site of our LIVE cooking demonstration and discussion with chef Karla on June 23.
ABOUT LOS BOOKIS
Los Bookis is a podcast connecting queer Latine bookworms with queer Latine stories written by authors who look and sound like us. Join your lively hosts: Adrian Gaston Garcia and Sergio Lopez for monthly interviews with some of the baddest queer Latine storytellers in the game as they dig deep into their literary works and get all the chisme you’ve been dying to know.
